Craft Behind British Luxury

Ettinger, Floris, Edward Green, Johnstons of Elgin and Jack Barclay Bentley were delighted to host "Craft Behind British Luxury" Open Day at Chelsea Barracks during London Craft Week 2021.

On Wednesday 6th October we were delighted to host 'Craft Behind British Luxury' open day alongside Floris perfumers, Edward Green shoes, Johnstons of Elgin cashmere and fine woollens and Jack Barclay Bentley, the oldest Bentley dealership, at the elegant Chelsea Barracks. The development, which already champions creative excellence internally and externally, celebrated outstanding British and international creativity throughout the week by becoming a destination for a series of events, thought provoking discussions and panel talks.

We were delighted to showcase our newest collection Capra Ecru and demonstrated how the Capra Ecru Stud & Jewellery Boxes are made at our factory in Walsall, Birmingham. One of our team members also demonstrated how we personalise our products. As a special gift, we initialled complimentary bridle leather bookmarks for our visitors to take away with them.

Edward Green's cordwainer demonstrated the art of hand-sewing with a boar bristle, and the display included their iconic dress shoes alongside new styles for men and women, all made at their factory in Northampton.

Jack Barclay Bentley displayed two exquisite Bentleys throughout the day, with their mulliner and designer on site.

Floris demonstrated the art of perfumery and displayed their range of fragrances, candles and more.
Johnstons of Elgin

Johnstons of Elgin showcased their Autumn-Winter Collection, and a very special edition of the new Highgrove scarf designed for HRH Prince Charles, combining the Prince of Wales check and an original Shepherds check from their archives.

In the afternoon there was a panel talk covering topics such as British craftsmanship, manufacturing, and how to encourage the younger generation into apprenticeships, moderated by the menswear blogger and British brands' expert, David Evans, aka The Grey Fox Blog.

In the evening we hosted a press reception and were delighted to welcome media guests from the UK and elsewhere.
