Tweed on Bikes

There is nothing more English than racing down London streets on your vintage bicycle, dressed in well-pressed tweed before stopping for a cup of tea.

Once a year quite a few very fashionable people take out their vintage Sunday best and spin the dust off their old-fashioned velocipedes. The London Tweed Run has become the stuff of legend. After five years of increasing popularity of suavely dressed men and women taking to London’s streets aboard their bicycles in vintage tweed, The Tweed Run has been dubbed the “reinvention of the catwalk” and the “scratchy tip” of fashion, among many other things. Contrary to what the name hints, the “tweeders” in fact cycle through the city, visiting London’s landmark locations, before stopping for tea and a picnic. It all seems jolly good fun to us!
