The British luxury leather accessories brand, Ettinger, is making its debut at London Collections Men* in the 'Designer Showrooms' during the four day event in June, 10th-13th.
Established by Gerry Ettinger in 1934, Ettinger has over 80 years expertise in British luxury leather accessories, has been honoured with a Royal Warrant to HRH The Prince of Wales since 1996 and during the last twenty five years, has expanded considerably so that its products can now be found in luxury department stores and retailers in over 35 countries.
One of the company's early international success stories was in Japan and Ettinger products are now widely available in over 180 stores nationwide as well as in the Ettinger store in Tokyo's fashionable Ginza district. Elsewhere in the Far East, Ettinger products are available in South Korea, Taiwan and Hong and the Middle East has also in recent times become an important market too. As consumer interest in luxury British brands emerges and establishes across these regions, Ettinger is widening its reputation as a purveyor of distinctive and distinguished leather accessories with timeless appeal and imbued with typical English flair.
Ettinger’s leather collections play on contrasts and a confident use of colour, thereby mixing a reassuring dose of timeless classicism and fine detailing with a subtle display of character. Combining traditional craftsmanship skills honed over many generations with clever design and cutting-edge technology where required, has ensured Ettinger’s continuing reputation in menswear styles today.
Welcoming visitors to the Ettinger presentation will be Jonathan Boston who has recently joined Ettinger as Sales Manager. Jonathan is a highly experienced specialist in men’s accessories, fashion and luxury, and brings over 18 years experience to Ettinger in the UK and internationally. The presentation will include a carefully focused selection of accessories from various Ettinger collections including its Bridle Hide, Sterling, TT, Saint Crispin, Lifestyle and Bag Collections.
The iconic Bridle Hide Collection is Ettinger's best-selling range and bears the unmistakable qualities of timeless yet characterful elegance. The Sterling Collection, inspired by the colours of the British banknotes, has a softer, more contemporary feel with its crisp black calf leather on the outside and a vibrant burst of colour inside, giving it plenty of character. The TT Collection is the result of a collaboration with one of London's finest design agencies. It pushes the boundaries of leather craftsmanship to the edge to deliver a collection that is technically complex yet pared down to the essentials in an aesthetically pleasing way. Saint Crispin is Ettinger's newest collection and honours the patron saint of leather workers and cobblers. Its silky soft calf leather will burnish over time and acquire a unique patina that will embellish the leather further. The Lifestyle Collection includes travel accessories and gift items with an enduring appeal and quality and includes a range of flasks that will be in the presentation. Ettinger bags complete the selection, with one to suit most styles and uses from business attachés to weekend traveller.
Still owned and run by the same family, CEO Robert Ettinger and his team welcome buyers and media visitors to its Head Office and Luxury Showroom in London, by appointment, to see more of the collections and discuss ideas and sales. The Ettinger factory, which is in Walsall outside Birmingham and was expanded considerably in recent years to accommodate for the growing international demand of British-made goods, also welcome media visitors by appointment and has been in continual use as a leather goods factory since the 1890s.
Commented Robert Ettinger, "We are delighted to be making our debut at LCM this June. Now firmly established in the international men's fashion diary as the start of the season, it was an obvious first choice for us to attend and showcase our collections and accessories not only to the British market but also internationally and to the growing number of buyers, press and bloggers that attend it".
