Luxury leather goods brand, Ettinger, is delighted to announce its involvement in the inaugural London Craft Week which is taking place from the 6-10th May. Ettinger is participating in one of the official events, “Crafted at Fortnum & Mason” Exhibition, which has been put together as a showcase event by Walpole – a strategic partner of London Craft Week – and is taking place in Walpole member, Fortnum & Mason’s iconic London store.
Throughout the shop - which already stocks a wide selection of Ettinger products - a curated selection of 28 current Walpole Crafted mentees and alumni will host displays, demonstrations and talks about their craft practices from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th May between 10am and 6pm and the exhibition is free and open to all store visitors.
One of the 28 is CEO Robert Ettinger’s current Walpole Crafted mentee, saddler Mia Sabel, and both Mia and Ettinger will be demonstrating their traditional leather working skills alongside each other in the Men’s Department on the 3rd Floor. Ettinger will be present on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th and one of Ettinger’s Midlands factory craftspeople will be present and handcrafting items. Also, anyone purchasing an Ettinger wallet in store on those two days will be able to have it initialed, for free, on the Ettinger stand.
Additionally, as SABEL announces the launch of its bespoke leather watch strap design, make and fit service, Ettinger & SABEL are also announcing the launch of a jointly produced new luxury watch roll product. Designed as the ideal storage solution for cherished time pieces, it is also a showcase of the respective skills of its makers. The watch roll will be accompanied with other Ettinger/SABEL collection items to be announced at the event.
The second day of the exhibition, Friday the 8th May, is ‘Meet the Makers’ Day, a day when all the craftspeople will be present and giving live demonstrations of their skills, including both Ettinger and Mia.
Having been a Mentor on the Walpole Crafted programme since its launch in 2010, another of Robert Ettinger’s mentees, milliner Bridget Bailey, is also taking part in the Fortnum & Mason exhibition and there will be a display of her hats nearby the Ettinger stand.
