Where is Ettinger and how can I contact you?

Ettinger has been based in London since its foundation in 1934. The company headquarters have moved from Warwick Street (just off Regent Street) to our present location in Putney in the early 1990's:
G Ettinger Ltd
215 Putney Bridge Road
London SW15 2NY
Tel +44 (0)20 8877 1616
Fax +44 (0)20 8877 1146

Our main factory is still in Walsall, near Birmingham, which is the historical leather town in England. The factory has been making leather goods there since 1890.

What does the Royal Warrant mean?

Having supplied leather goods to HRH The Prince of Wales on a regular basis for more than 5 years, we were very fortunate to be bestowed with a Royal Warrant, meaning we have been recognised by HRH The Prince of Wales' household as an official supplier. More details can be obtained on the Royal Warrant Holders Association's website (www.royalwarrant.org).

Where can I find Ettinger products?

Ettinger products are distributed worldwide through the on-line shops on www.ettinger.co.uk and www.ettinger.jp. You can also find a list of distributors here.

How can I order?

You can order on-line through our e-shop on www.ettinger.co.uk or you can call us at +44 (0)20 8877 1616 (9am to 5.30pm GMT, Monday to Friday).

Why do I have to register to order online?

We ask our customers to register on-line before purchasing, so we can provide them with better, more personal service. We like to build a discreet but personalised relationship with our customers, so they can feel part of the "Ettinger Family". It is also a way to protect our customers as it helps to monitor eventual fraud.

Can I pay in my local currency?

For the time being, we only accept British Pounds (GBP). However, you can use your local credit/debit card as your bank will automatically convert your payment into GBP.

We do envisage to launch local currency e-shops in the future.

How will my payment be processed?

Once you have selected your goods and entered your billing and delivery details, you can proceed to our secure on-line payment platform. This platform is provided by our bank, Barclay's, and therefore meets all the highest security standards.

Once your card details have been validated, we will receive your order notice and will confirm your order only once we have ascertained that we can effectively deliver it (i.e. we will check stock availability, delivery details, etc.). This means that your credit card account will only be debited when your order is ready for dispatch or, if necessary, when we have both agreed to a later delivery date.

How will my products be packed?

All our products are wrapped in tissue (or in some cases a clear polythene bag) and then placed in a hand-made Ettinger gift box.

How will my goods be dispatched?

Your products will be packed in a special gift box and placed in a parcel, ready for dispatch. We will endeavour, where possible, to dispatch all your goods in one parcel, using FedEx's International Priority service. More details can be found in our Terms & Conditions.

How can I send a gift?

Should you want to send a gift directly to somebody, please choose the gift option, write a personalised message in the dedicated box and enter the person's address in the delivery details. We will then dispatch the gifts directly to them and send the billing details to you.

Please note that you cannot send your purchases to two different addresses, so if you have some items for you and some to be sent directly as a gift, please place two different orders.

What duties and taxes do I have to pay?

All the prices on www.ettinger.co.uk are shown in British Pounds (GBP) and include Value-Added Tax (VAT) at the current United Kingdom (UK) rate. VAT is applicable on all goods sold to customers who are European Union (EU) residents and/or when the goods are sent to an EU address.

On the other hand, if you live outside the EU and you have the goods delivered outside the EU, then VAT does not apply and so will be automatically removed from your bill once you have filled in the billing and delivery details. You will, however, be solely responsible for any further customs duties that may apply when the goods are imported into your country. Should these apply, you will need to pay them to the carrier upon delivery.

What is your Returns and Refund policy?

For full details on our returns and refund policy, please view our Terms & Conditions.

How do you use my personal information?

We are very respectful of your privacy and we constantly find ways to improve our service to you in any way possible. Please view our Privacy Policy for full details.

What leathers do you use?

Ettinger is proud of its traditional English heritage and as such we endeavour to use as many English leathers as possible, such as our Panel Hide. However, tanneries all have their specialisations and we have to source our leathers in various countries to ensure that we get the best quality, in the right quantity and at the best price.

Moreover, we may, from time to time, use some exotic skins, which we always source in a responsible way and for which we always review the appropriate licences.

What care guidance can you give?

All our products are made using the finest leathers and materials. They are therefore beautiful from the start but should actually improve over time as all leathers acquire a special patina.

To make sure that your leather goods do improve, however, there are a few basic guidelines to follow:

  • If exposed to water or perspiration, allow your leather item to dry slowly and naturally: do not expose to direct heat.
  • Do not let your leather goods dry out. Regular but sparing use of Ettinger Leather Balm will help replace oils lost in natural use, especially for the Bridle Hide.

How can I become a stockist?

If you have a shop and you supply top quality goods to discerning clients, whatever the domain you are in (leather goods, fashion, home interiors, etc.), then please do contact us and we would be delighted to discuss distribution opportunities.

Are there any job opportunities?

We generally do not have ongoing job opportunities; however, if you feel that your experience and aspirations can match our company requirements, then please send us a CV and an relevant cover letter.
